Stroke Awareness
About Our Campaign
Started in 2021, our stroke awareness campaign looks to raise awareness of stroke; the second leading cause of death in the world, one of the leading causes of disability worldwide, and a disease estimated to affect approximately 1 in 6 Zimbabweans.
During the month of May month-long campaign, we focus on areas such as stroke prevention, stroke symptoms, stroke triggers, and telling stories of those affected by stroke. As part of our campaign, we host The Good Cause Fundraising Run in partnership with Harare Athletic Club with proceeds being used to assist stroke survivors.
We strive to make May known for stroke awareness in Zimbabwe and worldwide to the level of breast cancer awareness in October. We look to make our campaign and run an annual event for many decades to come.

Impact
-
- Since our inaugural stroke awareness campaign and run we have raised close to $1000 along with receiving donations of food, stationery, clothes, and equipment.
- From the money raised we have purchased bed sheet sets that we donated to St. Giles Medical Rehabilitation Centre in Harare and Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo, assisted a stroke survivor and her children in rural Shurugwi, and helped pay school fees for a stroke survivor in Harare.
- Additionally, we have been featured on 3kTV and ZBC to talk and raise awareness of stroke, along with hosting multiple stroke information booths across Harare.
